Borrowing an e-book reader

Borrowing an e-book reader

The Library of Charles University Law Faculty offers Amazon Kindle Paperwhite 3 e-book readers to borrow. Only full-time students, internal doctoral candidates, and internal staff of the Charles University Law Faculty can borrow the readers. One user is allowed to have only one reader at a time.

Lending rules

  • Lending is governed by Electronic equipment loan agreement, Rules and Regulations of the Library, Civil Code.
  • By signing the loan agreement, the user is obliged to follow the terms and conditions of the use of the lending of the electronic device.
  • The loan period is 14 days and can be extended only once.
  • The user is obliged to return the fully functioning and charged e-book reader (including its accessories) at the loan desk of the Library. The user data in the reader must be deleted.

How to borrow

The process of borrowing an e-book reader is the same as the one for books. It is possible to find them in the discovery service UKAŽ by writing the term “čtečky” in the search field – title words. The selected e-book reader will be available at the library loan desk. If the readers are already lent, they can be reserved similarly to books in the online catalogue. The e-book readers are lent without uploaded content. For information about the possibility to download a resource visit the eResource portal of Charles University – freely available. Fines for the infringement of the rules are specified in the Electronic equipment loan agreement.
